McNeil Consumer Healthcare, a division of Johnson Johnson, is recalling all infant Tylenol due to problems some parents have had with its new SimpleMeasure dosing system. 574,000 bottles of Infants' Tylenol Oral Suspension, 1 oz. Grape, have been recalled. Details about how to get a refund can be found here.
McNeil says SimpleMeasure includes a dosing syringe, which a parent or caregiver inserts into a protective cover, or "flow restrictor," at the top of the bottle to measure the proper dose. McNeil says in some cases, the flow restrictor was pushed into the bottle when inserting the syringe. McNeil says consumers can continue to use Infants' Tylenol provided the flow restrictor at the top of the bottle remains in place. McNeil also released this video about how SimpleMeasure works and about the recall. Take a look:
