SINGAPORE, May 22 (Reuters) - Singapore's Changi Airport,the second-biggest in Asia, reported a steeper decline in cargovolumes and slower passenger traffic growth amid an uncertainglobal economy. Changi Airport, a major transit point for freight routesacross Asia, Australia and Europe, said cargo volume fell 4.9percent in April from a year earlier to 148,200 tonnes. Thatextended the 1.8 percent drop in March. NEW YORK (Reuters) - A plane carrying blind Chinese dissident Chen Guangcheng landed at Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey shortly after 6 p.m. (2200 GMT) on Saturday, a Reuters witness on board the United Airlines flight said. China allowed Chen to leave a hospital in Beijing on Saturday and travel to the United States to study at New York University in a move that could signal the end of a diplomatic standoff between the two countries. BEIJING (Reuters) - Blind Chinese legal activist Chen Guangcheng's baggage has been checked into a flight bound for the United States, an official at Beijing airport said on Saturday, though there was no visual confirmation that Chen was on board. A woman at the United Airlines counter in the Beijing airport told Reuters that Chen Guangcheng's baggage "is already checked in" on a flight heading for Newark in New Jersey.
