KHARTOUM (Reuters) - Rebels in Sudan's western Darfur region said on Tuesday they had seized control of a town from Sudanese government troops, part of their campaign to topple President Omar Hassan al-Bashir's government. "Our forces entered Girayda, south of Nyala, and took over the garrison completely," Abdullah Mursal, spokesman for the Sudan Liberation Army (SLA) faction led by Minni Minnawi, said. Nicki Minaj will star in a new Pepsi campaign, "Live for Now." The ad, "Now in the Moment," features a cameo appearance by global music artist Nicki Minaj and features an all-new remix of Minaj's hit single "Moment 4 Life." Pepsi says the spot, directed by Fredrik Bond, is designed to capture "all of the excitement in a single moment frozen in time which is brought to life by the simultaneous crack of two Pepsi cans."
The frozen frames in the ad are pretty amazing and reminiscent of USA Network's The Dead Zone series. Take a look:
Nicki Minaj talked to Digital Spy about her successful new album, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded, which debuted at No. 1 in the UK and in the U.S. on the Billbaord 200. Nicki says she didn't put as much pressure on herself writing the second album. She says she let the process be more organic. She says she was more obsessive-compulsive while writing the first album.
Nicki also talked about working with Madonna. She said it was a "magical moment" when she got the call from her. She says her upcoming tour is going to be very theatrical, like her onstage exorcism at the 2012 Grammys was.
